IMPORTANT

One of the first things we like to establish with our clientele is that the Philippines is an extremely safe place to travel. As foreigners exploring the Philippine archipelago we have at no time sensed any animosity towards us. In reality it is quite the opposite - the people are incredibly friendly, warm hearted  and extremely helpful. 

However travelers are advised to avoid most of Mindanao, an island group in the southern Philippines where ethnic and religious animosities fuel ongoing violence between a small minority group of Muslim militants led by Abu Sayef against the local government.
